How we create and maintain camera guidance

Our aim is to make technical product information understandable without hiding uncertainty or mixing incompatible camera versions.

Last updated: 24 August 2026

Sources and specification checks

Model specifications are based on supplied product registration sheets and available product materials. We separate WiFi and 4G versions, even when they share a similar model name.

When a specification is missing or uncertain, we avoid presenting it as a confirmed fact. Product details can vary by production batch, market and supported application.

How recommendations are made

The camera selector prioritises site compatibility: placement, connection, power and coverage. It does not rank models by payment from an advertiser or by the highest specification number.

A recommendation is a shortlist for comparison, not a guarantee that a product is suitable for every installation.

Calculators and estimates

Storage and mobile-data results are estimates. Actual use varies with bitrate, resolution, encoding, activity, live-view time, alert frequency and device settings.

  • Inputs are shown to the user
  • Results are rounded for planning
  • Limitations are stated beside the result
  • Important choices should be confirmed against the model specification

Corrections and updates

We revise content when a confirmed specification or compatibility rule changes. Clear corrections are prioritised over preserving older wording. Readers should rely on the latest date displayed on policy and guide pages.

Advertising independence

Advertising may help fund the site, but advertisers do not receive control over our compatibility rules, calculations or editorial conclusions. Sponsored or affiliate relationships will be labelled when they exist.
